problem xenarc tsv 7'' vga monitor (4-wire)
Im having problems with my tsv monitor. When I touch the screen the pointer drag across the screen to the spot that I touched on the screen. When I lift my finger up off the screen, it goies back to the upper right hand corner of the screen. when trying to recalibrate the touch screen, it say it failed to calibrate.
the arrow pointer always starts in the upper right hand side. when the pointer goes across the screen, it very slow to get there, like 5sec to slow. what couls this problem be? Also have a problem after reboots setting the brightness, it always reset to 33 brightness. the last setting before reboot was 95 brightness. What about this issue? I dont want to spend $100+ for a control board.

If you have disassembled the screen and reassembled it, it's very likely that the bezel is pinching the touchpanel in that corner, causing the cursor to gravitate there.

But I didnt reassemble it back together yet. It still does the same thing. It not touching anything. could this be a driver issue? or touch panel problem? when trying to recalibrate the touch screen, it say it failed to calibrate

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your touch screen.
For settings in the OSD, try using the remote to adjust the setting and then using the remote to power off and on the monitor. That should save the settings.
As for the problem with the touch, it sounds like something in the corner of the screen is setting off the touch panel. You could try loosening the brackets to see if that alleviates the problem. The best course of action would probably be to contact Xenarc Technical Support to have the issue resolved. It sounds like it may just be touch panel interference.

Sounds like a driver issue. Go into Device Manager and see if there are any problems.

I am having a similar problem with the cursor going to the bottom right of my screen, has anyone figured this out. I find that it only happens when the screen is in the car.

Did you take the monitor apart and did a custom install into the dash? If that's the case, then you should check and make sure that the lower right corner of the bezel is smooth and nothing is pressing against the touchscreen panel. Also, try to do a 4-point calibration. If you are still having problem, please feel free to give us a call or e-mail us at support@xenarc.com and we will be more than happy to assist you.

That was it! I slipped a spacer in between the bezel and the screen, all good. Thank you!

it just sucks that every time I turn my car on, it starts back at 33 on brightness. And since I dont have a remote, I cant set it. With the touch screen, it works sometime, when I touch the screen, it takes the cursor a few sec to come near your finger. it only high light the icon and never completes the command. is this common for the older 7tsv monitors?(4 wire) are the 5 wire 7" tsv xenarc monitor much better or the same issues? I dont want to spend another $350 for the same problems. Also I will be molding this monitor also.

Your described problems are not common for the older 4-wire 700TSV. It is hard for us to tell without getting some more info on them (e.g. serial number, manufacturing date) and/or looking at them. It also could be anything from the way you mold the monitor to the age of the monitor. As you know, we have discontinued the 4-wire model for many years. The 5-wire 700TSV are years ahead of the 4-wire. We even revised the 5-wire 700TSV multiple times since it's introduction. The casings might look similar, but are actually completely retooled with various improvement including the material used. In addition, 5-wire is a superior technology to 4-wire. It last longer and is more responsive to the touch. Why don't you purchase and test a 5-wire unit before you take it apart and return it if you are not satisfied with it?

xenarctech Are you saying that the brightness setting is suppose to remain at it last setting when the unit is turned off? Every since I've had my 700TSV it has been the main complaint I have had with the unit, (the other being the resolution numbers and the input 2 stuff that pops up on the screen). I turn off the monitor to get gas, or run into a store and everytime I get back in the card the brightness has to be reset. This is hard because the unit is built into the dash and I have to try to locate just the right spot to use the remote to change it back. Why not just have options on the menu for saving the brighness and another option to display or not all the other garbage that pops up on the screen. I added a usb capture card so that I could use the backup camera without the "Input 2" or what it was that was always on the screen when I had the camera hooked up to 2nd input. It takes away from the professional look of the system with all that OSD clutter. Anyway i would like to update my xenarc to the higher brightness unit, if I can get the brightness to work properly.

So do you use the newer 5 wire t/s 700tsv monitor? I have the older 4 wire one, but have the same problem with the brightness reset when the car is turn off.
