Anti glare plastic sheet?

I'm not sure how this would work but Im after something to make sure I get no glare on my 10" I dont want to put anything physically large in front of the screen, a thin plastic film would be ideal though.

Anyone know any suppliers?

Thanks

3M makes lots of films including anti-glare and brightness enhancement films. You usually (I did) have to contact them to find out if there is a distributor or if you have to purchase it from them.

Hey DDT, can you apply these films over touchscreens or will it negate the touch panel?

I doubt it'll negate the touchscreen. They sell protective sheets for PDA's. I mean your screen comes one to prevent scratches and your touchscreen still works.

It will likely depend on the type of touch screen you have. I think there are two popular types. One is resistive, and the other is capacitive.

I believe resistive is the most popular and cheapest. With this type you can use any object (your finger, a pen, stylis, etc) to touch the screen. As long as the film is not too rigid, it will probably work.

The capacitive type requires actual contact with a finger. Unless the film had the correct conductive properities, it probably wouldn't work.

I took my Xenarc apart and the screen looks so much better without the touch screen.

It's not nearly as shiny and is nearly black. With the touch screen you get a slightly cloudy look, tons of reflection, and it shifts the background to a gray color.

Yeah you should be able to find something, I know for a fact I have seen big sheets of polarized film for laptop displays (some even come with the film on them already)

I think half the battle with glare is also having a high nit value to overpower the sun.
