I just can't figure out where is the following on the lcd... anyone can help ?
It's not on the board directly in the back of the lcd... maybe i gotta completely dismount the lcd to get access to those components ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
Thanks bro, you just made my day....
I have been scratching my head trying to find out what is wrong after following Mpro's and Serio's Mods, I used my precious two days-off and still ended up with a black screen. I have an inboard ATi Rage Pro agp and it does only not have an interlaced ticked on the Powerstrip, it also has the Composite Sync available, I have a PSOne that I have just taken out of my console (you can see the pic to the left) that is actually a Toshiba TFD50W32-B2, I could'nt find a diag/schema of this thing though in google and here you are mate, as i've said you just made my day...
Well, before I got off the topic and I guess it is still too early to say (as i noticed the tft board looks a bit different), I might start using this as a reference and we'll see how it goes...

Nope, sorry mate, the TFD50W32-B2 is the actual LCD screen, but this schema is for a different board, the whole thing only uses the Toshiba LCD, that's all . We'll just have to keep on searching I guess...

...judging by the color coding, yes... but PSOne only uses 12 pinouts.

your lcd has 24 pins like the diagram oui?
is there a board behind the lcd-part nums?
I guess thats the first pass, if NG then look further down the japanese page
he appears to invert and stretch the v or h sync
would be nice to have the panel spec (or similar) ....

my PSOne lcd has 5 separate boards, the lcd's, 5v's, game/av/on/off, main controller, and the output's (pal/ntsc, 7.5v, av/audio, etc.)
actually, since all PSOne lcd regardless of the manufacturer should have the same PSOne input in order to connect to the PSOne, therefore all PSOne LCD share the same standard. in this case it's much easier to just follow the AV pinouts located at the "http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/psxav.htm" and this is what I'm doing right now, i just need to get the LM1881 to separate the NTSC and the sync, i'll then see how it goes...

issue on PSOne RGB vs. AV-in
Those who are doing this mod and were getting no signal at all, this might be the reason why...
Some PSOne lcd regardless of the tft brand has the console input as well as an AV-in. This AV-in is a 3.5mm socket so you'll need a "3.5mm mono plug to rca socket" to accept a standard RCA cable. You can connect your video player (ex. dvd, vhs..) through this AV-in as PAL/NTSC. This type of PSOne lcd does not have an RGB_sync out.
Even without dismantling the lcd casing the difference is obvious. If you look at the back, on the output side, the one that has an AV-in will have "TV Out" whereas the one that has an RGB_sync will have "Multi-AV Out".
Surprisingly, the one who doesn't have an AV-in actually has more advantage for having a crispier screen (if you want to do the mod).
I think the better option I guess would be to built an "RGB_sync decoder". I'm not sure how far I could go with this, but I would give it a try...

this is the way I hook it up if anyone cares. http://users.adelphia.net/~mowry/new_page_4.htm
I used a old diamond viper card I had laying around. and I did not use any resisters. and it works great. very easy to do.

Ok I just picked up some of these at a local Target for $32.25 new, and have been playing with them. It seems that you can use a standard 1/8" av cable to input any stereo/mono + composite video source, and it will display very bright and crisp. I haven't tried the rgb mod yet, but I am going to try it tommorow.

Are you talking about a type of PSOne LCD?(that sounds really cheap) If that's for PSOne console then as I have explained that type of PSOne LCD only runs on composite AV, the rest of the 12 pins are for audio left in/out/gnd, audio right in/out/gnd, video in/gnd, 12v/gnd, and pal/ntsc switch. The one that runs on rgb_sync doesn't have the 1/8" (3.5mm) input.
