TheGuv is an unknown quantity at this point
Which screen compares best to a Kenwood DNX screen?

I've had a Kenwood DNX-7220 previously (stolen now) and I never had any trouble reading it on very sunny days in Spain for example.

My car is a Saloon/Sedan with a glass sunroof.

I am now building a CarPC and I'm currently stuck on what LCD to buy.

It must be 7" and I would like it to match or better Kenwoods screens as I have found these to be fine.

From what I've managed to find data-wise on the kenwood screens:

6.95" (resolution of 480 x 234 with 336,960 total pixels - 480H x 234V x RGB)

The screen is non-glare and smudge-resistant....

And that's all the info I can find!

I want to get something that'll be as good as whatever it is they have on their units, I was thinking of going for a expensive sunlight unit but £350 is a little expensive for my liking as I'm not convinced I'll need it... I can't imagine the Kenwood units are that highly spec'd.

And advice welcome.

Any screen with a VGA 15pin D-Sub input (made specifically for a PC's video) will have FAR higher resolution than the Kenwood, which is basically an LCD TV.

As far as brightness and readability in sunlight? That's another matter.
Read some reviews of various products. The king-daddy is a transflective screen, but they ain't cheap.....
