Adding backlighting will only wash out the colors. You also have to increase the contrast ratio. I've seen the Xenarc 700 VGA non touch with 500nit backlight upgrade at CES. Sure, its a little brighter but it also wash out the colors to a point that it almost looks white. I've spent an hour playing with the settings while talking to Jason at their booth.
