Installing Xenarc 700IDT

Maybe I'm just stupid, but I'm not sure how to approach the installation of my 700IDT. It comes with this mounting bracket (I believe it is referred to in the manual as a "sleeve") which it says to install into the dash first, and then slide the screen in and mount it to the sleeve. I see no real place to mount the sleeve, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to put screws in the side when the unit is already in. The stock brackets I have would work, so long as I don't use the sleeve and I dremel off an indented section of the metal on the stock bracket that's made to fit into an unused screwhole (which the monitor lacks). How would you recommend I approach this? Also, as a side question... how do I get the front bezel off?

I hadn't done a car radio installation in a long time so I was confused by the sleeve as well, plus the sleeve didn't seem to fit properly in my situation. So I just bolted the 700IDT directly to the mounting brackets and didn't use the sleeve. Just make sure your screws aren't very long so they don't impede the sliding process.

Are you talking about the plastic front bezel? It just pops off IIRC. I was trying to recess the unit as far as possible into my dash and the bezel wouldn't fit without trimming a lot of it off. So I just went without it and made an aluminum front panel to cover the lower hole. I actually mounted a status LED and 2 USB ports to the home made front panel as well. Figured I'd use the space for something.
