How Do You Extend EEEPC Monitor (LVDS to VGA)?

I have come across a few threads where people have extended their EEEPC LCD to other locations in their car. I have not come across one detailing how they accomplished this. I know some soldering is involved but I would like to know some details.

Does anyone have details or a link to their worklog that I may have overlooked? I am looking to recycle my EEEPC parts (since its bricked) and I want to reuse the LCD but I need to wire the LVDS to VGA so it can be connected to another PC. Suggestions? Or if anyone knows of a control board that has a LVDS to VGA connection.

If you need to ask, you probably don't have the skills needed to extend the cable, sorry mate.

You dont. Simple. A controller will run you more than a complete monitor with VGA input.

If it is truly LVDS (which it may or may not be), then you could buy an embedded board which gives you LVDS output.

I found an adapter board online that has LVDS/VGA. I will look further into that down the road. I am just planning ahead, that's all. Gonna have to recycle out/repurpose my EEEPC parts. I also saw some Intel and a few other mini/nano mobos out there that have onboard LVDS in addition to VGA. Those may be an option also.
