samc,

So you are saying that at 0F you have not had any problems with the monitor working correctly?

Thanks for the info!

Does your EPIA 800 handle dvd playback (or divx) very well? I hear many saying that it is "choppy" and that I should go with a EPIA M series instead.

Thanks,
Kevin

I used my epia 800 as my PRIMARY dvd/divx player for about 3 months before I put it in the car.. it worked great with winXP, also works well under win98se.. it cannot handle dvd/divx under win2k in my experience.

Re: Crap!!

Hi Kevin

Yes you can remove the LCD + Controller + Touch panel from the case and mount it flush but you will have to fabricate everything from scratch. Many people have done this and it look very good . I myself will eventually do this.

Here is the exact measurements for the 7" Touch Panel

I don't have one for the panel. But here is the size of the LCD panel: W 6 5/8" x H 4 1/4”. The controllers width is the same and the Height is 4 3/4".

The LCD is 250 nits which should be enough. Also if your window are tinted that helps a lot. A lot of people use TM-7002S and TM-701L with great results.

For the RCA input (composite) you will need to use TV out on the MB or a video card with TV out.

I was planning on using this monitor with your touchscreen overlay

hhhhmmmm.....

Couple of questions then. 1st I noticed the monitor has a circuit board on the back. Is it possible to remove the monitor from the case, use one of your touchscreens, and then mount it behind the factory panel? Got any ideas of how I would make the RCA inputs work?

What is a low cost solution that you might be able to offer? (Considering I want to see it in the day and want touchscreen)

I was thinking maybe I could use one of your 7 in monitors remove it from the housing and mount it flush. What do you think? What size is the actual screen assembly if it in no in the housing?

What about an overhead flip down screen? Are they sturdy enough to use as a touchscreen? Do you have any that would fit the front light assembly of an Escape?

I think I might go nuts as I thought this monitor would work for now

Thanks,
Kevin

Yup Windows 2000 and dvd does not seem to go together well with the EPIA 800.

I will upgrade to windows xp later when I get a "working" version : )

My EPIA 800 with Win2K has no problems in DVD playback. I don't know about DIVX, but my DVD playsback fine.

I would think anytihng smaller then 5.0" is pushing it. Even a screen that small would be hard to see.

Hey Samc,

I see that you have the same screen as I do, just wondering if you notice a shadow effects (dark line run across the screen). Look at the picture to see what I mean..

I see, sometimes I do get "shadow lines." Usually I switch video 1...video 2 (or vice versa) and that clears it up.
