WinXP Problem with seeing LCD

So I finally got my LCD screen that I'm going to do for my car mod, and I want to try it out, so I hook it up to my computer using the rca cable to vga adaptor, and I have nothing. I'm wondering if it's just WinXP not recognizing it or what. I have it hooked up right and everything, just isn't working.

This is the LCD I bought:

Pyramid MV7SC 7" TFT LCD Color Monitor

The LCD works as I've tried it with my gamecube and dvd player. Any suggestions on what's going on with this??

Edit: My video card is a Chaintech GeForce4 Ti4200 with 128mb DDR. I'm using the S-Video output.

Have you tested the S-video output with a display you know works?

Typically, the video will auto detect a screen is hooked into the tv-out and use that as a primary display. But this may not be the case here. You may need to enable tv-out as your primary display. Also, some cards will only use Tv-out at low resolution such as 640x480 or 800x600.

So would it have a problem with displaying a resolution of 960 x 240 pixels?

Thats 320x240 pixels

960 consist of 1R +1G+ 1B = 1 pixel

or 960/3 = 320

so 320x240

But anyway, first test it on a real TV, if that works then SEARCH

I'm using S-Video, TV works fine. I'm wondering if S-Video has a problem displaying lower resolutions??

I pm'ed you back and you never answered

if your tv works fine then you probably have an impedence problem, hook up the lcd to your dvd player or some other source besides the computer, and I repeat, search, this happens all the time

Does anyone have this LCD or had experience with this LCD? I want to know if anyone's even gotten it to work with a PC, and what their setup was.

I have this LCD, works ok. The colors suck as well as the display itself. You cant read the small text, and the big text isnt clear either. I hate to say, thumbs down to this LCD. Im going to use it just as a secondary display.

its probably a resistance issue.. try this.. get it working with the tv.. power on the lcd and then plug it into the lcd while the computer is still on. You should get a picture on your lcd. if you do you need a 75 ohn resistor on your rca line

This has worked for me in the past. Turn off the computer, unplug your vga monitor, and boot with just the lcd pluggen in.

It's not that, I've gotten it to work in my house with that same computer. It's just now that I have my computer running on my Opus PSU and the LCD running on the inverter (for now) it doesn't seem to work. I've even tried the LCD using an extension cord from the house but it's not going. I need help with that resistor though, like exactly what i have to get and what I have to do to the wire.

I've installed 4 of these lcds in 2 different vehicles. I've had my laptop hooked up to them without any problems-other than the fact that the lcds just aren't very good display wise. You mention that you're using the s-video output of your computer. Do you have an adapter that changes the s-video to composite rca? Why are you running the lcd off the inverter and not the 12volt DC from the battery? Do you have some AC to 12volt DC converter that you're using to power the lcd? Again I had no problems hooking my laptop up to mine laptop->composite rca cable->lcd.
