I think 256k colours is 18bit, not 256 like 8bit.

Can't remeber an exact thread but I'm sure it has been mentioned before. Maybe a quick search would help.
ISTR that 32k colours is 16bit.
and 16 million colours is millions of colours is 24bit and above.
so 256k (not 256 colours) would work out about 18bit which seems to be normal for TFT's I've seen.

I think it has the inverter, but not the controller.

I'm pretty sure that it is just a panel and controller. You would need to search to find out what controller you could use with it.

I reckon, as long as it would work with your Graphics cardThis Datalux LMV10R would be pretty cool. Problem is if it is a 10R, and not a 10R2.

The problem is that the 10R models only work with older 5v sync graphics cards unless you tamper with things.

the 10R2 will work with mdern 3.3v sync cards.

The only way to tell them apart is to look at the back(if you don't want to take them apart) because they were all badged as 10R models.

I've mailed the seller, not told him what the differences are, but that there are differences and it is important, could he send a photo of the back of the case. All he sends back is that it is an LMV10R, and is working.

Might be worth a risk, if you can snipe the auction in the last second (hardly flying up). he says it will do 800x600 Datalux and all the other sellers say it will do 640x480. but that would be fine for media engine, or the Arby Winamp3 skin, or that 4AM music console that was posted to the software forum.

I've had a good look on Datalux site, and didn't see any list of cards.

Oh Falken, don't know how to do it to Armin, after I have been a real PITA to him, asked for dimensions, quotes and stuff. But I suppose I should support the local guy.

So that screenprice for the VGA touch monitor includes VAT? And delivery is only £8 I take it that is through Royal Mail parcels.

If that is your site, I should ditch the floaty dynamic menu, it gets annoying jumping arround all over the place. If those prices are straight, and I order via Credit card tomorrow, when could I get one?

Got one in stock so you could have it Friday, I use Royal Mail Special Delivery.
I'm not VAT registered which helps keep the prices competitive.

Very Tempted. It's a tossup between you and Tatungs Vibrant Direct 10.4

I can see advantages of both. I only need 800x600 which the Vibrant does, but gives much more useable real estate, for not much larger width.

But you have the ultimate smaller size, and are about £32 cheaper when you add shipping into yours.

God I don't know. I know Silver would go better with the black dash, than a beige monitor, and I should be able to mount the gain loser to the dash without blocking any controls till I build it in.

How easy does the VGA cable attach and detach from the case, and what length of VGA cable is supplied? I heard some problems in the past about the VGA connectors breaking on the *enarc ones?

Did they improve the design?
I'm going to need to sleep on this.
A week ago, I couldn't find anything UK based under £450, now I'm surrounded by various packages under £400

if you are doing purely MP3/Vizualisation and you have the depth space, a chassis mount system would be perfect, as long as it is a P90 or above running linux, and scripted Mpeg123. That would be a cool system with a custom front end, even Xmms would be fine on a High p1 or mid range P2.

Falken: Sorry mate. Can't order at the moment. Had a discussion with She Who Must be Obeyed.

Not good. Bordered on a blazing row. She doesn't want me spending anymore on the CC towards the CarPC. She can't see the business potential that I'm working toward, as I evolve it. The answer from her is, if I buy an expensive new screen, she goes. She says i only spent £100 on the composite 7" 6 months ago, and that will have to do me till Xmas. BTW your screen, is the touch on it serial or USB?
