Question Motorized lcd mechanism in an indash unit

I want to get a hold of the motorized lcd mechanism that pushes out the lcd screen so I can custom install my screen into my g35 coupe's dash cubby where the factory navigation system would've gone had I got the option. Does anyone know of a source to get these? I've emailed Pioneer and they said their units where made in Japan. I've searched all over the net on this but nothing turned up.

I dont think your going to find a motorized empty housing to mount your own LCD screen cuz theres no gurantee that YOUR LCD will fit in the housing. You have to make your own from scratch.

Digitalww sells a 7inch DIN motorized unit for about $650. I looked at it for my G35 coupe. unfortunatly the cubby is not deep enough for the unit. you need 7inches for the Din unit. I took apart the dash and there is AC duct work and two large structual braces right under the cubby. one of the braces goes from the analog clock to the Bose head unit. I could see no way around it. if you have better luck PM me

I did look into using an old CD rom but they are not strong enough to push the screen up. You know it doesn't take much to push the trays to close on a PC.
