Sharp LQ94D021, where did it come from?

so I picked this LCD up the other day at a local surplus store, and after doing a little research i cant seem to find out where this thing originally came from. I would assumme an old laptop but you never know.
so i was wondering if anyone knew where it came from.
in addition does anyone know a way to control it without spending $200 on a controler card, and if a controler card is what its going to take were can i get one and which ones will work with this LCD.
