LCD making noise when connected to laptop.
Hi, i was just wondering what the best plan of attack was for this problem, i've got my new 15" BenQ lcd grounded via a screw in the back of the case and that cured most of the noise bar some slight inverter noise, but when i disconnect the monitor cable from the laptop the noise stops, i was wondering how i should go about fixing this, can i just cut the ground wire in the cable or will this cause problems.
Thanks
Damien

since laptops are hard to ground, I propose this:
try to somehow ground the outside of the vga connector....which connects to the laptop...which should ground the laptop..
might work

Hrmm, well my laptop is grounded from the serial connecter, i've tryed grounding the whole lot from the outside of the vga connecter and still get noise, the only way i can get rid of the noise is to ground the laptop from serial connecter - car and the lcd from a screw in the back of it to same spot on car and not have the vga cable connected.
Thanks
Damien

power brick is most likely to put out 19v. some laptops may charge from 12v, but most ive seen are 19v.
