need ideas and pics of non-indash mounts

i've searched! All/most of the post only talks about it and people never fell through and post their final pics. Well post your mounting pics here only if you did not mount the lcd indash. I need ideas and suggestions to do my truck.

I installed a 7" Xenarc screen into the airbag compartment of the passenger side of my Ford Ranger pickup (there was no airbag ever installed). I then made a enclosure out of foam to support it. The dash cover snaps on and off very nicely so that no one can see the screen and I don't have to worry about sunlight either. I'll take some pics and post them.

If you're looking for a way to mount an LCD screen, you can try Cellphone cradle mounting bracket. The bracket is pretty strong.

i think you mis-read my post. I wanted screens that were not integrated into the dash themself.

i'd love to build a carputer, but the theft issue scares me away

if a screen is visible, and the car is not in a garage (i dont even have a garage, i park on the street), someone may just rip it out.

so any other ideas for non-dash mounts? something hidden, removable, or whatever?

I have lived in different areas of Chicago with the second setup for a couple of years. Nothing was stolen. Different as in LSD and Belmot, LSD and Montrose and at IIT (31st and State). But if you want to be secure, go with my second setup where you can just remove the screen in a heart beat. Pretty easy to mount too.

I mounted my screen on top of the dash and ran wires out from behind the clock. I used the stock mount that came with the DScustoms 7" touchscreen I have.

If you have the proper tools and skills you could make it a lot better then mine too.

check out my setup if you're looking into making a system where all the expensive components can be removed. it's at the link below. When I strip the thing down all thats visible are some wires, a weird camera mount, and a black metal thingie next to the shifter. (I can pull it out too if I want to.))
