LCD into double DIN

What size is the lcd that will fit perfectly into a double din slot?
like:

I am looking for great quality lcd's that dont dim out in daylight. What brands should I be looking at?

I'd say it depends on how much space there is behind your dash for overlap etc. You screen viewable area may be 7" but the LCD panel may be 8". If your space behind the 2DIN slot won't take 8 inch (missus!) then you can't use that LCD.

Numbers above are examples, not real LCD!

Depending on what's available to you, you may consider doing what I've done. It's flush in the dash, but smaller than the 2DIN slot so I framed it. See my website link below for details.

What are some reputable brand of lcd's out there? What numbers tell me if it will dim in daylight more than others?

Not sure on particular panels, but the most important value is the brightness, measured in nits (or c/m2 or something?) The higher the better, I think 400 are the really good ones, 250 are reasonable, anything 200 and below will struggle in bright light.
