Lucky me!

Well, I'm happy that I waited a month before I got it...it looks like the newer screens (purchased after October 20th) are not refurbs. I think you guys who have the GHOST image should return them for an exchange so you get a new screen.

All the problems that everyone has about:

1) Changing to normal resolutions (800x600, 1024x768) causes ghost image/over range error.
2) Booting and changing resolutions (from BIOS to Windows Logo to Desktop) causes ghost image/over range error

I have had none of these problems and I'm very happy it even works with my widescreen laptop resolution (of course it does does not fit...for some strange reason the videocard only outputs 1024x768 via the vga cable not the 1280x800...strange).

I am starting to believe the refurb story, but it seems so expensive to gut a machine just for a screen, test them...clean them...put them into new cases. It could be just OVERSTOCK from screens that were suppose to go to arcades but were never made. By the way, notice no one is complaining about the pretty Asian woman on the screen...just the Jurassic logo?

He also claimed they are new and Mine had a plug over a hole instead of a headphone jack as said in the auction.

Any chance there is a manufacture date on the LCD? Maybe a serial number that could be used to ask Hitachi what the date is. What about contacting Lilliput and seeing what they say?

Mine was shipped today so we'll see soon I guess.

here you go guys got electronicar to set up a seperate auction for the TOUCHSCREEN enabled monitors that should make a couple people a little happier. only thing is, they marked it up 50 bucks from 228 ---> 278 .... ?????? !!!!!!!!!

i thought the upgrade was only 35! but after adding up shipping and everything, it comes to be a grand total of 313 which in essense is still a nice deal.

let me know if this made anyone's life easier

Aha, they want the truth. In almost all situations it is cheaper to use the recycled LCD panels, out of these pachinko machines. However, it is a choice, and in all of the screens I currently carry I specifically requested new LCD panels. I have not been told that the LCD panels in the Lilliput screens are recycled, but I also have not been told they aren't. I'll ask tomorrow. Please note, all recycled panels would be inspected and have the backlights changed for new ones. The panels have an extremely long lifetime and doing this is commonplace in the LCD market. In japan, these products with LCD panels are everywhere, and the shelf life is not very long. When a product is made obsolete, they will scrap all the existing parts and make newer models. The LCD panels then make their way to taiwan for our imported products. Oftentimes these screens were never used, just built, recycled and reused.
In the coming year or two we will see a drastic drop in the prices of new LCD panels, which will correspond with some awesome pricing on the mobile video market as these panels drop from >$100 to $50-60.
I'll post back when I find out about the panels.
Dave

Hey Dave, do you have an updated ETA of when you expect to ship the screens?

Thanks

He won't give you a brand new screen. What they do is you send them the broken screen, they send it to Lilliput. Lilliput investigates and replaces the broken parts. Than Lilliput sends it to Ex-Audio where they send to You. It will take awhile.
