Resolution

I have also placed an order for this screen. One thing I did notice is the conflicting resolutions.

According to the ebay page, the resolution is 1024x768.

According to this url:
http://www.digitalww.com/Hitachi_TX18D11VM1CAA.pdf
the resolution is 800x480.

I have had an NTSC screen for so long, that I dont really care as long as I can read text.

Jerseyboy, I take it you are in the US, but has anyone successfully ordered one of these from Hong Kong for delivery to the UK and had to pay the old import taxes on top of the purchase price?

That screen looks nice. For $300 that is an awesome deal. Almost makes me want to order two and save on shipping.

I ordered a touchscreen LCD from Ray before he had them up on Ebay on the 19th. Received this email today. I've had 2 on order with DigitalWW since Sept 11th and his website is still telling me that they will ship last week on 9/22. I guess if the factory is out, nobody has them. Kinda sucks that its impossible to get accurate ship dates on these things when I placed the orders.

I was going to install 2 of them in a couple of subs - but that opportunity already passed.

I don't know how much I believe this ship date of Oct 4 or 5, thats this Sat and Sun. Who ships on weekends?

---------------
Dear Sir or Madam,

Due to an excessive demand for the touch screen version of the monitors both the manufacturer and our warehouse is out of stocks, currently we only have the non-touch screen version. We have already sent notifications to our buyers, if you didn’t receive the notice we would like to apologize in any case.

We will ship them as soon as possible in the early October.(about 4th-5th) We will also send an extra headrest bracket as a gift.

Sorry for the delay.

Can someone post the URL to Extreme Audio or their ebay sales? I can't find any Lilliput screens on there, and Extreme Audio in Google brings up nothing.
Thanks!

Well, according to that PDF, the actual pixel count is 800x480. which means that you will never actually see any more pixels than that. BUT apparently the controller can accept a signal up to 1024x768, and it converts that into the 800x480 pixels that the screen can display, and therefore has to loose a little bit of the image, that is why text can be unreadable at anything higher than 800x480,, but still, 800x480 is plenty good resolution, as I have a 640x480 right now, and am plenty happy with that

your in jersey? Id like to see this screen. It basically comes out to $268 total shipped, insured. Sounds too good to be true, but maybe it is?

We should really get a Ny, nj meet up again

I'm in Hong Kong and have ordered the 7" LCD monitor from ebay. I contacted the sales rep. here and he advised that the touch screen kits would be available around 9 October the earliest. I managed to get one at $278 with touch screen here (without shipping/insurance). Can't wait to try it out and report.
