LCD placement...what do you think?

I want to put a 7" LCD where my old reciever is but the one I want it pretty big with the shround and everything. IM looking into the lilliput one but it has all the plastic around it. How hard do you think it would be to take the LCd out of the casing and mount it in the dash so it looks factory? Behind the faceplat in the dash is a big metal cassing that would be hard to movie/cut to fit the big casing. Has anyone taken apart their lcds to do this?

so, take the LCD out and work with the housing mounting it behind the dash somehow...then mount the LCD back in? The problem is the housing is too big to fit behind that panel, thats why I wanted to take it out of the housing.

actually mine was too big to fit in the dash too but all i did was trim the bezel itself to fit inside the dash piece. ..and bam it was done. . . .well actually took me like a week to complete painting and all
