DigitalWW service is poor?

OK, I've sent 3 emails to DigitalWW without a response.

I placed a pre-order on the 16 Sept for a 7" in dash VGA monitor. It's the final component in my carputer project which is all but finished except for MediaEngine 2.0 and a in dash monitor.

I'm now considering an OEM nav unit from Mercedes and the screen is no longer needed, but as I can't contact DigitalWW or get replies to emails from them, then what am I supposed to do.

Anyone else had issues with there customer service?

They seem to have us by the short and curlies because of the competitive price of there products.

Hmm, it's a bit off topic, but I have noticed that Armen contributes to these forums and also that someone mentioned a baby, and that can be time consuming.

I did wish Armen well in my 2nd email regarding the baby etc, but I need to find out what my options are.

Wait weeks for a screen or get a Mercedes Command system delivered next day.

I also realised that this hould have gone to the LCD screens forum and not the input devices. But as it's touch screen, maybe I can be forgiven.

I talked to Armen last week. He's getting the screens in at the end of this week and then will be sending them out. He's also throwing in a camera and dome. See his website...

Thanks for that info, I don't want to come across as a moaner, but I'm desperate to fit the carputer before the weather gets too bad here in the UK to do any outside work. I don't have a covered area to work on my car, just the drive way.

I wish Armen would send me just one reply and I would be happy.

Craig

PS: Any news on his new arrival yet?

You already did. Threads like these are NOT needed. He participates here often, but making threads to complain is just plain stupid.

And this applies to all who have thought about doing this. Not just you.

If a company has poor customer relations , a bad history or negative feed back, i would rather someone moan about it, so that then we can decide our selfs wether we want to deal with these companys or go elseware.

Thought that was the point of the forum, to share info.....

Regards.

Someone should also berate him for not searching about it in the first place. I mean that's standard in a case like this isn't it?

Actually, I did a search and found some threads regarding poor feedback from DigitalWW a few days after I ordered my screen, too late by then I suppose.

Also I was willing to wait a while as I also read that he was awaiting imminent delivery of a baby, just having suffered the same problem with a local builder, (he dissappeared for 4 days without telling us when his wife was rushed into hospital with labour pains) I am sympathetic to Armen's personal situation.

As I said at the start of this thread, it's a great product for the price. So really there is little option but to order from DigitalWW or pay megabucks for an Alpine/Kenwood/Pioneer etc...

So lets stop the flames, I'll wait for my monitor, I've decided to go with the Mercedes OEM system for my CLK, but I wll use the DigitalWW screen for my van.

I don't think there is anything wrong with posting here about a complaint. If he were to have come on here flaming and screaming, that would be bad, but he stated his case very well and in a calm manner.

When a company is difficult to contact, for whatever reason, the consumer needs to use ANY method available to recieve information. DigitalWW has great products, and Armen is a nice guy, but not everyone knows that, so when they can't get in touch with him, and don't know his 'personal' situation, they have a right to be mad. They have a right to be mad even if they DO know his personal situation. Poor customer service is poor customer service, even if you are a nice guy. A lot of people on these boards like him (justifiably so, he seems like a nice guy) but to attack people that have valid complaints just isn't right. *shrugs* [/2cents]

It's ok man, I wasn't directing that post at any one particular person. However, when you are TYPING something out, and people can't hear or see you, you might want to include visual clues such as or perhaps a 'hehe' or a j/k or even a [sarcasm]comments[/sarcasm]. People can't tell you are joking simply by reading.
