Temperature Problems
Hey.
I´m thinking about installing a raw TFT-Display.
But the most Specs say, that the working temp.range is between 0°-50°...
What could happen in winter, when it´s very cold?
tia,

My Lilliput's touchscreen hasn't worked properly the last 2 mornings with temps in the 40-50F range.
It seems the top plastic layer of the screen, which I assume is the Touchscreen, bubbles up and away from the LCD, which seems odd. I would think the plastic would contract in the cold, so I figure there is a metal frame holding the plastic film tight, and the metal is shrinking a bit causing the tension on the plastic to loosen. Problem goes away when things warm up, but it takes 15-20 minutes.
Anyone else have this problem? possible solution?
TIA

Uhm.... 0 C is = to 32F defined as the freezing point of H2O.
The display may be sluggish untill it warms up. Any other issue would not be related to Temp.

Windchill is an effect on people not equipment. It is the feels like temp that we would be exposed to if the wind was not present.

you guys are talking a lot about your screens working fine in cold.
But try answer this.
you are stoping the car. it is -20C to -30C outside.
The car is standing there 3 days without using.?The LCD is mounted in the dash.
what witll happend with this LCD?
Will it be destreoyed becouse of cold (so I habe to buy ned one)
or will the LCd be fine but I haveto worm it up before I turn it on and the screen will after some time and worming be good as new?

goose it depends on the lcd's maximum/minimum storage temps, check manual/data sheet. Most lcds have a higher storage temp than usage temp, so letting the car warm up the interior before turning on the screen is a good idea cold days
