another quick question.. is there any problem with running a long VGA cable from the trunk to the front of the car?

cable organization is the key for running wires in the car. you should have no problems if you keep power wires, or other "high power" wires away from speaker wires and low voltage signals (i.e. monitor cables)

run the high power wires on one side of the car, and the low power wires on the other side of the car. if possible, i would even go so far as to run the wires in 3 spots (if you have the room). that way, you could take out the low voltage monitor cable and run it by itself. but if you dont have the space to run 3 sets of leads to and from the trunk, then at least separate the power wires from the rest.

VGA EXTENSIONS DO NOT WORK!!! ... be very careful, spend the extra for a NAME BRAND, with a GOOD RETURN POLICY ... they are VERY crucial in sending the signal and can REALLY mess it up, significantly! <-- my input

However make sure you don't get the cheapest one you can find. It will work, but the quality might not be as good.
