Hey Folks,
I have tried to search and I have found a number of different pieces of software (Smartie.. LCDC)
But try as I might I cannot seem to get my 40x2 LCD to work.
I heard summat about XP not directly addressing the parallel port or something but I cant say I understand it.
Is it set up wrong or do I need different software for XP?

You will need something like DLPortIO to allow 2k/XP direct access to the parallel port

Whereabouts in Essex are you? I'm living in Loughton, but am often up in Colchester on weekends!

If it still doesn't work with dlportio, check your setting in bios for the port, I use ecp. Btw, JaLCDs is excellent. Much more configurable than smartie. It supports fade and wipe effects, custom characters, and animations. There are tons of animations, custum icons, and plugins on the site.

Im trying to get that software working....
Well the LCD emulator. I have the LCD, but ID like to design it without having to connect it up.

Anyone had any luck with that pluggin?
