Lilliput LCD Questions

Hello everyone!

Ok, I must be one of the rare ones that has a perfect screen! I can use almost every resolution (even the crazy 1280x800, yes you read that right...widescreen laptop resolution)...I don't need to cycle the power when it changes resolution. There is no spookie woman or logo!

However, I do have some questions!

1) Has anyone used that on board usb plug that is on the side of the lcd? Does it actually work to plugin say a keyboard?

2) Has anyone figured out why in the world there is a USB connector on the A/V cable?!

I have figured out the following myself so far:

1) The red plug is 2nd video input OR audio (if just using one device)
2) Using a Palm stylus is the best way to use the touchscreen (you can even get the CORNER X to close Windows apps!)
3) The Calibration is best done with the stylus..and yes you have to keep pressing/holding until it beeps to do the calibration.

Please help me answer my two questions, thanks in advance.

The USB plug on the screen is actually for the aux A/V inputs. Plug that cable in there.
We need a fingertip stylus!

Oh cripes...no wonder the A/V didn't work when I didn't plug in the USB!

If you have long enough nails you can cut it in the shape of a Palm stylus!

Don't have the cables in front of me, but the A/V cable for the Lilliput has a black female connector. Looks like a power connector. what is this conncetor?

I actually own a DS old Lilliput screen (not the new ones people are buying now on this board)...that is used to power the screen, you can actually plug the power adapter into there. At least, that is what it is used for on old screen, there is no power connector on the screen itself.

Oh, funny side note...the remote from my old Lilliput works with the new VGA lcd's! The funny part is the Calendar button actually works on the old screen.

That's what I was thinking, in fact, I checked to see if the power cord fit, without AC current. I was afraid to ZAP!! my new screen. I'll leave it for someone else to confirm.

what is this talk of a spooky woman and having to reset the screen on res change - these both worry me as i'm about to order a lilliput.....

Don't quote me on this one, it ***seems**** the FIRST RUN of Lilliput monitors are either:

a) Refurb Jurassic Park arcade monitors
b) Refurb Pretty girl game (no one has found the name of the game yet)
c) test images that got burned in the memory of the LCD

However, my screen that I ordered on October 20th (from Extreme Audio Ebay) does not have the Jurassic Park nor the woman. I also DO NOT have any over range problems with any resolution at 60hz, I'm not sure if people are just setting the hz too high or it is the first run of the monitor.

I am VERY HAPPY with my LCD Touchscreen Monitor, just be sure to e-mail Extreme Audio for instructions on how to add/pay for the touchscreen properly BEFORE sending money. Here's my setup if you are curious:

- ATI Mobility RADEON on an Emachines widescreen laptop
- 32 bit color works fine in these resolutions: 1280x800 resolution 60hz (for some strange reason, the VGA out is converted to 1024x768..even though the control panel is 1280x800). I have also tried 1024x768 60hz, 800x600 60hz!
- I use a Palm/Pocket PC Stylus instead of my finger and I can use ALL CORNERS of the screen (even the X to close apps!)
- Yes the damn screen gets hot on the corners...BURNING in fact.
- Remote is totally strange, it is a remote from an OLD MODEL Lilliput LCD so it has extra buttons on it that don't do anything (Show Calendar for example).

I rate this as a BUY, just as long as you get the newer one that i got...No Jurassic or pretty Asian woman!

My comments above are about the new Lilliput VGA screens that everyone is talking about on this board.

I only mention the *OLD* DS Lilliput lcd because the remote is the same as the *NEW* VGA one.

So who has got these screens working at what should be their native resolution of 800x480 ???

Using my dual vga 64Mb Radeon 7000, I couldn't get any image at 800x480 @ 60hz so using Powerstrip 3.30, I went into the real time control and set the H sync to postive & V sync to negative which got rid of the overrange message and just put a single blue line at the top of the screen.
Next I upped the scanrate and at about 67hz it started showing the image albeit too wide and high to show entire desktop.
Centred the image and compressed the width and height down. The only thing is that once you get near to the perfect width the image goes blank again and pops up overrange. The closest I can get is a strip about the width of the windows icon on the start button missing on either side.

Anyone else had any luck????

I received this screen on Friday, after some playing around with it I found out
that it's really picky concerning the screen refresh rate!!
I have it running now at 1280*768 @ 85Hz
If I use any other refresh rate, also at other resolutions, I will get out of range and sometimes even the Jurrasic Park logo!!
Concerning the touchscreen, it's just perfect as already mentioned earlier.

I hope this will help some people out there
