Carputer Question ? Shuts down when starting my truck.

Hi,

I just installed over the weekend a cappucino pc in my truck using a inverter directly hooked up to my battery. The problem I'm running into is that when I start my truck the voltage drops to 7 or 8 volts which causes the inverter to beep and then my pc shuts down. How can I prevent this? I was thinking of a capacitor ? If so how big of a one do I need. All I want is to be able to keep the pc running while starting my truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks !!!

You really should have posted this in power supplies, but anyways, try searching for "tank circuit" in the power supplies section. It's a very common problem when using an inverter, and has been talked about a lot.
