what to look for in a computer monitor?

im not looking for a monitor for the car but rather for my laptop to use its dual monitor capabilites. its not related to carputers but i figured this would be the best place to ask anyway. im not looking for fancy flatscreen plasma stuff; just your regular boxy monitor because i dont have much to spend. is it realistic to think i could get one for around 100 dollars or less? it would only be used for internet and an ocasional game.

could you guys tell me what to look for in a monitor? i dont really know anything about them to any advice you can give me would help.

I assume you are talking about a flatscreen.

therefore the things to look for are brightness at least 400

Speed low 20ms response times 16ms if possible.
