Angry WTF LCD gets no signal from my car pc but gets signal from home pc?

Well after finally yanking the 10.4 lcd out of my car after it has been in there a long time waiting for the carputer to finally get finished I went to put it in today with no luck. I have a Datalux 10.4" Vga touchscreen unit that powers on when it detects a vga signal. I had a full sized Sony tower in the car and it powered from that perfectly fine, I now have a EPIA M 9000 system in the car and the screen won't turn on meaning it isn't detecting a VGA signal? Wtf, I plug my EPIA into my 21" IBM monitor on my homepc and it comes up just fine, my IBM monitor detects the signal. Is there something I am missing when it comes to this epia mobo setting wise? Any help is appreciated!

People have run into this in the past. Its a certain revision of the controller board in the datalux. If you search, you should be able to atleast find some more info. I think those that had such datalux's either bought newer controller boards or used vga signal boosters.

Yes it has to do with that the Epia only outputs 3.3v on the vga line. Wich in turn isnt enough for the screen to be detected. That screen needs atleast 5v on the vga line.

Now wich line it is, I dunno something about sync. Search on it. It has been mentioned before. There are some post that mention how to mod it and all.

Oh man that sucks ***, what if I drop in a PCI card instead of the onboard video. That should take care of it right?

And thanks for the info by the way guys!

Well scratch that idea, i went and bought a geforce 2 pci card from work and it definitely still didn't want to turn on. Plug the bastard into my 9500 pro on my desktop and turns on just fine Where can I get a vga signal booster because I'm not about to dismantle this thing just for something like this. Hell I'll sell the board before I do that

i have a datalux 14 that has the same problem, it will not work with my nvidia card but does with a old matrox card. maybe try another brand. if you find any info on "vga boosters" i'd love to hear about it!

you have to mod the LCD to accept 3.3v
