24x2 Problem: Only 8 of 24 characters appear
I've successfully hooked up a 24x2 LCD display through the Parallel Port. Using both CFAH_Wintest and LCDCenter, I can only get 8 characters to display correctly on both rows. No other characters appear. However, when I first supply power to the LCD, the entire first line is filled with black boxes (which I understand is normal before the controller has been initialized).
I'm using Windows XP. I have tried LCDPrint by opening a command window in XP and running it, but it doesn't work. I haven't tried booting to DOS and running it.
Has anyone else had this problem or can someone help me troubleshoot/fix the problem?
