7 inch inDash XGA for $229.00 (www.mp3playerstore.com)
I just thought I would post this for anyone looking..
http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_...ial/IN-720.htm
I've ordered 2 LCD screens from here before and man to they look great.. I haven't had any problems with mp3playerstore or my screen.. As a matter of fact they look a lot like the ones everyone else is buy (maybe same company makes them?) but at 1/2 the price..
In any case I just thought someone might be looking..
Any reason why http://www.mp3playerstore.com/ isn't listed on the sticky(Sources of LCD screens) for screens?

That is a great price but with 180 Nits, isn't it low for car during daytime?

Is Brightness: 180 cd/mē the same as 180NITS? I really don't know myself.. I would imagine a screen with those viewing angle (Wide viewing angle (L/R: 60 degrees, U/D: 60 degrees) ) has to be brighter then 180nits unless it was meant for driving at nights only.. Hehe

I think most of those Car NAV LCD is about 400 Nits
I think cd/mē and Nits are the same measurement unit.

Well if you are right then this thing would be useless for a car (what it is made for).. Bummer too cause it is a good price..

The liliputs are 400 nits and i hear a lot of people complaining that those are WAY tooooo bright. The tm-702L that digitalww sells is 200 nits i think, and the vga version is 250 nits...anything 200 or greater is ok for daytime use...

Here is something you might want to consider:
Mp3PlayerStore.com's business tactics:
http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2132.html
^^^Entirely the reason I didn't buy from them.
But hey, you might get everything ok ;p
Also notice that they sell that lcd on ebay for $199+$29.95s+h = $228.95
and they sell the same lcd off their website for $229+$9.95s+h = $228.95
hehe, thought that was funny
I bought mine from Armen @ digitalww and couldn't be happier with the screen or their incredible service/support/speediness.

Well I contacted Armen about screen he said would "be in soon" and two months later still weren't.. I went with mp3playerstore.com and had my two 7inch LCD TFT screens in for little more then one from Armen.. I'm not bad mouthing Armen cause I understand his supplier told him about the screen and didn't deliver.. Needless to say I had my screens in from mp3playerstore and installed and Armens screens still were not listed on his site..
My dealings with them have been A+ so far..
One thing I noticed about everyone on this site is you are willing to deal with such poor service.. Kris from Opus never sends any emails back.. DWW never seems to update his site about product.. I can find countless post with someone who can't contact anyone at the three major parts suppliers listed on this site (Opus, DWW and DS Customs).. Sorry if I email a company asking about a product and don't hear anything back for a week or I order a part and hear nothing for weeks on end I'd be more willing to take my money else were..
Sorry this turned into more of a rant but saying stuff about a resellers rating when the main suppiers here do the same or worse just seems dumb.. The phaze "The pot calling the kettle black" comes to mind..
In anycase I just listed this in case anyone was looking.. I give them an A+ ion my book till they give me a reason not too..

Yeah but that's just coz the panel resolution is 800xRGBx480.
That screen is just the same as the TM-701L as that has 2 composite inputs, NO VGA input yet has a panel with the same 800xRGBx480 XGA resolution.
At least DigitalWW isn't trying to make it look like the TM-701L is an XGA compatible screen though

Well to give them some credit they aren't just plain old NTSC screens as the panel res is better than the latest Kenwood or Pioneer Touchscreen Headunits and they cost $$$$
They are on a par with the TM-701L i.e better panel res but still composite at the end of the day.
The only problem I have with them is the damn advert implies they are XGA screens i.e you think the have a PC input and they don't

Re: convert individual displays?
Armen,
What would it take to use this with a computer? If you use a TV card out to the RCA monitor inputs, it will not be sharp, right? What is the holdup for your in-dash 7-inch, the actual displays, or some part used to convert them? Would you consider taking a standard TM-702L or something similar with RCA inputs and converting it to VGA for a fee? I really want to get a display in soon ... I've been waitng for yours to become available, and its really starting to drag on ... plus, I have a chance to get a TM-702L for a deal
Thanks,
Lacoste
