Powering an LCD from AC power?

Sorry if this question has been asked, but I couldn't find an answer from searching. I just ordered a TM-701L and I want to be able to test it from inside my house before I install it in my car. Is it possible to power it up inside the house? I'm an electrical novice and I have no clue what to do. I know how to power it up in the car by running a power line and a ground, but not from an AC outlet.

Thanks for any info.
Joe

You could use something like this:

or you can use your computer's power supply,, any Yellow wire coming from the power supply is the Positive +12v, and any black wire is the negative or ground.
