Cool NEC 6.5" lcd pinout

hey, i'm kinda new to all this lcd stuff, but electronics is my thing. anyways, i have this lcd, a nec NL6448AC20-02 and i can't find a datasheet anyplace for this thing. the newer nl6448AC20-06 or the nl6448bc20-08 do not have the same connector on the back (the -02 has a 29 pin flex connector, and the -06 and -08 have a 31 or 34 pin connector...or something like that). the pinouts do not appear to be the same either, as some signals on the -06 and -08 are ground points on the -02, unless when the display is powered up those pins are not at ground anymore. if anyone out there could help me out, that'd be great. this is my 3rd mp3 player, but the 1st w/ a color lcd thanks in advance, andy

unfortunately that site doesn't have the pinout for the nl6448ac20-02 even nec doesn't have the datasheet for the thing....hmm maybe they emailed me about the datasheet hehe.

as far as powering your display goes, you need to put +5v on pins 28 and 29, and hook the power supply ground to pins 31 (normal scan direction), 26, 1, 5, 12, 19. or, from what the pdf says, you can just hook your ground to the display case and pin 31 to achieve the same result.

as far as your inverter goes (this is powered seperately from the display), pins 1 and 2 are for vcc (5v), 3 and 4 are for ground, and pin 5 u can tie to +5v in order to drive the backlight @ 100% brightness. (these specs are all for the 5 pin connector w/ the red/orange wires comin outta the board, labeled CN1) according to the pdf there is also a 3 pin connector on the inverter board someplace, although i don't c it in the picture. so anyways, if ur inverter has this connector (CN3), pin 1 should be tied to +5v (turn the backlight on), and then if you want variable backlight brightness, you hafta remove the +5v from pin 5 of the other connector (don't connect it to anything), and put a 10k pot across pins 2 and 3 of the 3 pin connector.

all ya gotta do now is hook the cold cathode tube wires to the high voltage connector on the inverter (hiding under the white plastic junk), and ur good 2 go. hope this helps.
