touchscreen edge not responsive workaround

so my touchscreem doesnt work near the edges...about 1cm around the outside of the screen area. I know a lot of people have this problem too....was there ever a workaround for this problem? Or no?

I found that after doing the 25 point calibration (had to run the touchkit.exe from the windows nt drivers as i was using the dodgy ones that came with my Lilliput) it seems to be perfect almost right to the edge. I can press the buttons on the edges of the screen in MediaCar with my fingers easily. Only a few millimetres around the edge are useless for me.

My workaround, do the 25 point calibration and cheat around the edges, usually just the right edge in my case. Basically I miss the target to the left about 1/8" or so.
