What do you guys do with your screens in the cold weather???

I'm doing my LCD screen shopping and I see that most of them have operating temps listed between 23F and 158F. What do you guys in cold-climate places (I'm in NY/NJ) do with your LCDs in the winter? Is it dangerous to leave them in the car, especially with our sub-zero temps nowadays?

I've left mine out in my truck in sub-0 weather before. If you turn it on while it's frozen the screen will look funny for awhile, but then goes back to normal as it thaws out. Not sure if this is the best policy but it hasn't killed my LCD yet.

This morning in Philly, it was 7 deg F. My lcd wouldn't power up, even after a half hour of driving. After work, temp was about 25 and it was OK.

So no damage can be done to the LCD? The "operating temp" is basically just the temp range that it will actually function in? Or can there still be a chance of severely damaging the LCD in cold temps?

It doesn't appear that there was any damage. Not sure about the long term effects of this, but I guess I have no choice since the lcd is embedded in my dash now and I'm not moving to Florida anytime soon.

the liquid inside freezes... haven't heard of one actually suffering any damage due to freezing but i wouldn't make it a habit to power it on at -7 degrees or whatever.

Most screens also have a 'storage temp' tolerence, that doesn't go much below 0F.... that said, I haven't had any problems even after it went -18F this week, nor have I had any the rest of this season... I just don't turn the screen or PC on until my car's warmed up (which isn't a problem for me since I don't like puting the car in gear until it's up to a good 180F at the radiator)
