LCD suggestions for "removable carputer"

Long time lurker/visitor, first time poster..
Here's my situation, I have an older Toshiba Portege, 266mhz but real thin and light, and powerful enough for GPS. The LCD display is busted, and repairing it will cost too much to warrant fixing something this old. But the for factor is way too nice for me to want to give up, so I'd like to find an LCD that I would be able connect the laptop too (through the VGA output, NOT through the onboard controller), but then also be able to remove the LCD and laptop from the car and take inside so (a) I can use it inside with the laptop base and other gadgets and (b) so I don't get a second carputer stolen.

I'd also love to have an LCD that takes both VGA and RCA so I can plug in different devices and use the LCD for other purposes as well. Basically my requirements:
-Decent size screen with readable text
-VGA and RCA input
-DC and AC power sources (or at least a possibility through
adaptors/converters)
-Mountable, yet removable
-Not terribly expensive

Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If ou are long time visitor, you should have some ideas about Displays...

what About 7" widescreen Lilliput Display, it has VGA input, 2 RCA inputs, and if you want, Touchscreen. you can mount only the cables into your car, to connect removable Display and laptop (display from one end, laptop - from another end).
it is about 270$ on eBay (cheapest option) plus S&H (total about 300$), w/o touchscreen - 50$ cheaper.
As for removable variant, you can use some rails for laptop, and some stick (where the display will be on) for display, if you look at the back of these small displays, there is a mortise for it.. I plan to do removable solution for display, I have some ideas about it, when (or if) I done, I will show you.

Cheers

went ahead and ordered the lilliput and have it in the car now.. The laptop decided to fritz out on me.. looks like there may be more hidden damage than I thought. so I dropped an old 166mhz monster size computer in there. Luckily the LCD wedges in perfectly between my dash and cupholders. I have a Honda CRV 1997. I'll have to take pics and post them. I also have my dreamcast in there, hooked up to the lilliput. Now if I could just get the stupid GPS to acquire a signal, I'd be set. Or if I could find some extra $$$ I could get a new one.
