EPIA 5000 (Eden; 533MHz) + 7" Widescreen + Linux

hi,

i got a via epia 5000 a few months ago and now i'm nearly ready to put it into car. but there's a very big problem left: the 7" widescreen tft (xenarc oder liliput). i haven't brought that display yet, because i wanna know if it works first.

my epia board does support 16:9 vga resolutions, that says the bios on startup ("[bios version] VGA 16:9").
i want a real widescreen resolution under linux/xfree, something like 800x480 or so. no fsckin' stretched image.

so my question is if anyone connected such a display to an epia board and got that widescreen resolution under linux? if yes, how does it work?

greets, dasgib
