Needs,

I don't doubt that it will conceptually work with my application, but the thing is, I don't think that my screen is looking for a digital RGB signal. I'm almost positive that the signal is analog, and that's why I am having so much trouble with it. I could be wrong though...

I just e-mailed Denso Corp in Australia...hopefully they can help me out or at least point me in the right direction (Denso is the manufacturer of my OEM navigation computer).

Hi, I haven't read this too closely so I might be reposting something that was already suggested... but there's quite a few aftermarket devices out there that let you tap into the nav system and output different sources into the nav screen.. nav-tv is one of them.. I saw a fairly good one a while back for about $500 US but I forget what it was called... Keep in mind though, I never saw anything about factory touchsreens here, so you might have to check (nav-tv in particular seems to specialize in more high-end vehicles)
hope that helps.

On the Touchscreen integration i googled the terms and I got these links:

This guy has integrated an mp3-cd player into his Toyota Prius Touchscreen:

More on the controls for the above mod:

Basically, instead of out-putting the Image to the screen, you can use the OEM CD Changer image, and have the computer output CD-TEXT to the Nav computer. Then analyse the signals the nav system outputs when you press each button (on the touchscreen), and tie those outputs to the computer's parallel port and have the computer react appropriately to each of these signals.

Hope this helps!
