Finally got the infamous lilliput Jurassic Park logo

but it wasnt thru what most people described here. What I did was open up the lilliput housing, and detached the touchscreen wire, and also detached the PCB-LCD ribbon cable.

I opened the pull-out-angle connector and stuck the ribbon wire to the connectors with just my finger. While the lilliput is connected to the video card, i can successfully get the jurassic park logo to appear before it fades to white by playing around with my finger.

Securing the ribbon cable back to its original position, I no longer get that image.

I was testing using a geforce mx 440 800x600 @ 75 Hz resolution.

I believe the image was for testing purposes when some wires are on while others are off it will appear. It could be that the heat was getting to the ribbon cable which causes some people getting that image under normal operations.

It's nothing to do with heat, if mine ever shows the logo, which is rare, it does it just after the first bios screen and that could be when cold or warm.

its a screen burnt, and there is no way you can get rid of it. maybe you can buy a new lcd screen.

screen burnt happen when the screen display a constant bright image over a long period of time. this is the reason why screen saver was invented, to prevent the screen from displaying the same image over a long period of time. btw screen saver is not energy efficient. you computer probably use more energy in screen saver mode because the cpu has to render the screen saver, therefore, using more power then say when the computer idling in word.

YourBigFun,

I think you are mistaken. What we are talking about is something completly different than a screen burn. Especially becasue my LCD screen is Bran Spanken New!!

We are talking about a screen that pops up duiring boot that fades to white...kind of like the ones you see from the intel desktop boards and so on.

Thanks for trying.

It's not screenburn! Somebody said they updated the bios and they haven't seen it since but I haven't tried that as I only get it rarely and it doesn't bother me,.. I don't usually turn the screen on until the music starts anyway!

Check this post http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...ory#post129286 Read the whole lot and come back next week when you're done

Um, the bios update was for the Epia sys board, Not sure why this would work but..http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/show...ghlight=100%25, No good if you don't have the Epia though!

If it was a screenburn, you'd see an outline of it on your desktop, and it'd be there all the time. It's like with projection TV's, when i was younger, couldn't play games on our bigscreen cuz if i paused, i'd see the pause menu under EVERYTHING the TV displayed. (if it was paused for a long enough period of time)

oh yes their is, thats why it still says dont play consoles on modern projection lcd tv's overhead units etc still to this day, its not a burn, its a reduction in the ability to block light....
By playing with the backplane bias voltages on the lcd you can reduce its visability.
That could be why it appears as the screen is switching on or partially connected, unstable backplane voltage.
No manufacture is going to put an image like that in bios as a test image. your 'screen' is new, but posssibly built from recycled parts.....

IMHO, Lez.

LCD's can't burn in I heard.
It's the transistors holding some sort of memory.

It's not screen burn, it's not transistor memory, it's a test image.

its NOT a test image !!
the screen are recycled screens from the panchiko machines and YES it IS transistor memory.
i work at the philips natlab and had a researcher from LG/philips plasma/lcd tv devision look at it, he said it was indeed transistor memory as spoken of detailed in some previous thread.

a test picture with a logo wouldt make any sense btw.

From what I remember it is indeed transistor memory, and it can be gotten rid of. To get rid of it basically means leaving the screen on a pure-white (or was it black?) for about a week or so. To prevent wearing out the backlight should be disconnected whilst doing this.

I haven't bothered, the image is too infrequent to bother me (don't turn the screen on straight away anyway).

The only thing I find annoying about the Lilliput now is it not changing mode properly (eg when you fullscreen a visualisation in WMP) and having to reset it. Kinda got used to that now tho...
