Lilliput info required

Does anyone know if the LCD of a lilliput TFT monitor can be mounted at a distance from the electronics circuit board. I want to mount the LCD on my center console and the electronics near the PC due to the lack of space on my center console.

The biggest problem I can see is the flat foil cable that goes from the control PCB to the display - I've started looking for a longer replacement for my switch PCB but haven't found one yet. I've opted for a length of standard 3m ribbon cable as it is just button inputs in my case, but for distancing the display from the PCB...

The other connections are simple stranded wires so they can be extended easily.

I'm not sure how it will behave with a long cable though, logically it should be the same, but stranger things have happened...
