In-Dash DVD, VGA, Motorized???

Does anyone know if there are any motorized units with dvd player and a VGA connection? THis would be so cool if it existed. I know about the Digitalww products, unfortunately, these don't come with the DVD player in it. I also have seen the DSCustoms DS9000DVM. This item would be perfect, except it has no VGA. So, if any one knows of anything with a motorized 6.5-7" screen, DVD, and VGA combination, let me know please!! BTW, it doesn't matter if it takes only 1 din or 2 din spaces, I have more than enough room.

Thanks,

Rafster

There are a number of overseas mfr, that make dvd-motorised screen with built in amp.

With a little skill and some hard work, you could modify one, by buying a new screen kit such as the one available from DigitalWW.

Ive been contacting with a company thats developing a new Vga motorized screen, and all i can say is that it wont be long... its almost completed.
For ages that gain is promissing a new vga screen (motorized ),and i to was skeptical , but soon i will have final pictures and specifications....

You know what? I really don't even care if it's motorized. Is there any 6.5-7" VGA Indash unit with the DVD built in?

Thanks all for your help so far.

Peace,

Rafster

Bear with me, I am kind of new to this, but what is the difference from VGA and something like the Pioneer Motorized DVD? Will it be a great difference? I was planning on purchasing the Pioneer AVH-p7500DVD.

Kenwood have this coming out very soon

Got a double-size dash opening in your vehicle (if it's a Japanese import, for example)? Then fill it with one of the most innovative mobile-video receivers on the market — the Kenwood Excelon DDX7015! The gorgeous 6.5" LCD takes up the entirety of the faceplate — you'll basically have an advanced, integrated monitor sitting flush in your dash.

Making system adjustments is straight outta sci-fi: touch-screen controls and the intuitive graphical user interface let you command all the receiver's functions. When you need to insert a CD or DVD, the monitor motors down to give you access to the slot.

System Q EX sound control, with its five adjustable EQ curves, ensures that you get great sound no matter which format — DVD, CD, or MP3 — you play. The four channels of 22 watts RMS continuous power play back your music and movies with gusto. Three sets of preamp outputs let you add external amplifiers for even more muscle; the System E's+ Advanced Crossover makes sure that each amp gets the right frequencies.

When you're parked, you can watch your favorite DVDs on the gorgeous LCD. There's even a digital output that lets you connect an optional surround processor — add appropriate amps, speakers, and a subwoofer for home-theater-style surround sound. Hook up a monitor to the set of audio/video outputs, engage dual-zone mode, and while you're driving, you can listen to the radio while the folks in back catch a flick.

Key Features:
double-DIN (4" tall) chassis
motorized faceplate with 6.5" LCD video monitor
touch screen controls
graphical user interface
plays DVDs (stationary use only), CDs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, and MP3 discs
dual-zone capable
SIRIUS controls (SIRIUS Radio subscription, tuner, and antenna required to receive the satellite radio signal) — service is available only in the lower 48 states, not available in Alaska, Hawaii, or U.S. territories
System Q EX Sound Control with 5 highly-adjustable EQ curves and selectable speaker type settings
hideaway module with tuners, audio/video inputs and outputs
front/rear/subwoofer preamp outputs
CD changer controls
System E's+ Advanced Crossover with adjustable high- and low-pass crossovers
digital output — for connection to optional Kenwood surround processor
navigation input
wireless remote control
22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels
DVD frequency response 20-20,000 Hz
DVD signal-to-noise ratio 100 dB
FM sensitivity 9.3 dBf
warranty: 2 years

hehe, you mentioned you're new, so I won't flame you. Not gonna even bother with the or . Here's the lowdown...

VGA = (simple terms so everyone would understand) Computer Monitor Input Port.

Resolution = (simple terms so everyone would understand) how fine (or small) a dot on screen can be. So the higher the resolution/native resolution, The clearer text can be, more visual space. i.e. try set your monitor to 640x480. Now set your PC monitor to 800x600. Notice anything?

Composite/NTSC = (simple terms so everyone would understand) Your TV. Great for viewing movies and shows. Next time there's fine text on the screen. Try to read it. Usually happens on commercial with disclamiers. Notice Captions always takes up about 10% of your screens, that's cause if they're smaller, you can't read them clearly.
