Lilliput EEPROM

"Access EEPROM fail!! Please check again." Is what I'm getting.

I've got an EPIA M10000 Neh. board, brand new, loving it so far, hooked up to the touchscreen inside, everything is fine, I can sit and play on the touchscreen with the AC adaptor plugged in , all my USB devices (GPS, USB keyboard, Touchscreen, and USB optical mouse) with no trouble

Took everything out to the car (literally unplugged power cable and plugged back into the inverter), and the touchscreen no longer works in windows xp. I was able to open up the calibration and it receives the input (it beeps at me while I go through the calibration), but then when it's saving the settings it gets "Access EEPROM fail!! Please check again."

I did get this the first few days with my touchscreen, but a reinstall of drivers, and it didn't come back. Although I did see some chinese characters every now and then, but I assume those are just another manifestation of the Jurassic park/woman haunting the lilliput.

So does anyone know where to go from here? Even with my warranty, I'd hate to go through the hassle of sending this back to Hong Kong, but that may be my only option.. I did a and basically there were two things that looked like they might be solutions, opening the housing and securing a plug, or sending it back, but most of those posts were kind of left hanging. Anyone have any input?

Yep, seems to work fine on the ac adaptor, except for the occasional eeprom error when I used it with another computer.
Set up the carpc inside, screen worked great for the few hours
Took it out to the car, didn't work
Brought it back inside, it did work
Back to the car, didn't work.

If its a bad eeprom, then why does it work inside? I would think that if it was bad it wouldn't work, regardless of the power source. I

well, some progress was made with the touchscreen, or so I thought. I was able to get it working in the car two different nights, but the morning after it stopped working when I booted up. :P

I brought everything inside, dismantled and rewired everything (down to the power switches and leds), formatted the drive, reinstalled a fresh copy of windows xp, updated it and installed the lilliput touchscreen drivers. Worked like a charm, tried rebooting several times, turning off, shutting down, switching USB plugs, kept on trucking, unplugged the computer power supply from the wall, and let it sit for an hour or two, came back from Denny's and no more touchscreen. :P Still works physically in the calibration but cannot access the EEPROM again.

I'm going to be emailing Extreme Audio Electronics again. Their original response was to install drivers, which sometimes fixes the touchscreen, but usually only temporarily, and is completely unacceptable for daily usage.

Anyone have any more ideas? Or even anyone out there with the same problem?

Jurassic Park?

Is the Jurassic park ghost image appearing the first time a well known feature of these then? I thought I was going mad when I saw that.....

I doubt it's well known, because if you stick "Jurassic Park" into the "SEARCH", above, you only get 27 threads mentioning it & lilliput, so that would probably just be coincidence!

don't mean to drag up an old post, but I thought this might help someone. I recently decided to give the touchscreen another try after having to replace my harddrive/OS. Grabbed the latest drivers from:
http://www.egalax.com.tw/Download.htm
and the V3.2.3.3122 drivers for XP seem to be working so far. *fingers crossed*
