OK I'm tired of feeling like I'm stupid

I've tried going through post after post to try and self teach myself on how the touchscreen kit install works, but I'm just not getting it. Here's what I've gathered so far. I need at the least a computer, a touch screen kit, and a monitor. That's about all I'm sure about and I'm not really sure about the monitor part. I already have a indash monitor installed and this is for movies and what not, but I'd like to have a touch screen setup totally seperate from this. What I would like to do is have the smallest touch-screen possilbe(maybe that 4" psone screen); something that doesn't have to go indash and is easily accessible while being stealth. All I want to do is to be able to access programs off the computer; mainly the music software programs(ie. music match, creative sound etc).

First question what else do I need besides those three basic components. I've read I need controllers. I'm assuming I need one for both the screen and computer, but what am I looking for when I go to a store(meaning what are the exact names of the controllers). Now from reading other posts I know every computer would have a different controller, but does the same hold true for the monitors or can I go ahead and collect that part now.

I've read things about vid cards also. My question is since I won't really be using the touchscreen monitor for anything but controlling the computer and not really for visual pleasure do I even need anything, but the on-board vid card.

Believe me guys I am a good cat and once I get answers and work with this stuff I'm definitely the type of person that would help out others so your help won't be wasted on an a**.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

You pretty much got it down, what you want to do to make this all simple is buy a screen with a VGA input and touchscreen already installed, that way it's mostly plug and play for you. So you plug your screen into the computer and figure out a way to power the computer... um, that's pretty much the basics. I'd be happy to answer any more questions, but that was kinda vague.

Well I'm glad I got it down at least a little. Getting everything power is stuff I've got down it's the other stuff I have issues with. Just to clarify this doesn't have to be simple, I'm a pretty smart guy. I'm also pretty cheap and you definitely make out better customizing. The one post I saw about the psone screens got my attn because that's about the size(and price) I want to use for the screen of course I don't know if there's a tsk kit that's small enough for that screen. From your response I take it if I wanted to use a monitor without the vga plug then that's when I'd need the vid card with rca outs? Didn't seem like it but that was a question.

Also you mentioned nothing about the controllers.

TSKs can be bought pretty small, I think there's a 5.6 at www.digitalww.com

You are correct about the RCA video deal, that's what you'll want to use.

I didn't mention anything about controllers because I don't know anything about them I bought a screen with a VGA controller built in so I didn't have to learn anything.

Thanks for the help dude and if anyone else can help me with the controller issue and if I can get a tsk for that psone screen I'd really appreciate it.
