Info on Ripping DVD's for correct aspect ratio?

Does anyone have any good information on which output resolution to use when ripping DVD's so that you get the correct aspect ratio for the lilliput 7" screens?

Thx.

There is a great tutorial here:

www.clonead.co.uk

as well as all the software you need to do it right. I have ripped my own for a while and they turn out perfect, way better than a kazaa rip.

Rip them in OAR.

You don't want to do pan and scam.

Every time you watch a pan and scan movie god kills a kitten.

Please. Think of the kittens.

gospeed.racer, thanks for the link! Looks good I'll check it out.

Confused, what the heck is an OAR? And what the heck is a pan and scan? All I want is a DIVX 5 rip from my DVD's.

I can rip them no problem using DVDX. However, I just don't know exactly how to get the resolutions correct. Input/Output resolutions, etc. Bitrate...yadda yadda.

It's all stuff I don't really care to know to tell you the truth. Someone should come up with some DVD to DIVX ripping software that is user intuitive for the average consumer. Similar to say, MP3 ripping software. Click and Rip kinda stuff.
