Isent it easier to shortcircuit the poweron button and connect the 12v powercable to atx power???? I´m new to this but have lots of mainstream knowledge.... Sinse I only want to power on my lilliput when my pc is on this would be an easier solution....
Any one with skillz...... Does this work or will i damage the screen???

Thats the route I went with. I was afraid I would screw up the board. Very tiny solder connections.

Yeh this should work fine.
Personally I am using the 12v regulator that came with the lilliput. When the PC turns on it powers a relay switch which turns both my amps on, turns my EQ on (all via the remote wire) and powers my screen up. I found it safer this way, just in-case.

I've been using this same technique for 16 months.. it works a treat and everything comes one and goes off when you turn the pc on/off

Not sure if this has been answered before but. the - on the cap connects to this little pad correct (image below)? not 100% clear from coyote's pic.

Anyone tried this mod on an 8" Lilliput? I'd prefer not to be the first on the 8".

The cap should have a line of minus signs down one side. if it doesn't it's probably not a polarised one.
Powering the lilli off your PSU is a possibility, just depends on what power it is and how much the computer draws. You should use it's own regulator + lead and connect to a 12V source.

well i have soldered before. i soldered a chip onto my xbox and i did this the other day and messed up pretty bad. I burned the track and i could no longer solder anything to the board. It was my own fault, i went and bought a 80 watt solder, i guess it got too hot. i was pretty sad, but i had a local stereo repair shop fix it and re-lay the track. so just a warning, BE CAREFUL when you do this! the board is very small and delicate! dont make my mistake!
