Thumbs up 4x20 VFD $8.50 - Group Buy?

EDIT: sorry... said $170 EACH not total for the 20 of them as I had read. will delete this if ppl wna tme too...

Hello, I was wondering if anyone would like to get some surplus VFDs... I can get them for $8.50 each. Is this a good deal, and who would be interested?

I was thinking about getting 20 or so of them ($170), selling some to whoever wants them here and the rest on ebay where it seems that they go for much more $8.50.

Also, shipping is said to be POD, so I am not sure how much that will be. It will obviously add to the base price you will have to pay, but will be distributed between 20 pieces, so it shouldn't be much more.

Also, you would have to pay shipping, but I doubt that it would be much.

Hope to see some interest, as I wouldn't want to make too much money on ebay ;-) You think I'd be able to sell them on ebay?

Thanks!

Dwiel

Exclamation

Oops, forgot to add the link to the specs: http://www.73.com/specs/db760.shtml

Specs say:
"Emulate Hitachi 44780 Data Input (Dot Matrix Only)"

What exactly does this mean? They will still be useful right?

Thanks!

I already emailed him and he said:

"Dwiel
Thank you for your inquiry.

The cost for 20 of these VF displays is $170.00 each. These will be shipping FOB our Plattsburgh, NY warehouse. Please note that I will have to reconfirm current availability when we receive your purchase order since these are subject to prior sale. "

Although, I don't that I would mind buying 50...

Especially if some people here were interested

EDIT: DAMN... 170 each.

Sorry about that... man was I excited!

Should I delete the thread?

Yup, interfacable via parallel port (I actually have code that I wrote to do just that at http://www.partyinthecity.com/nts/nts.zip ).. I'm not sure about Girder, never tried, but I don't imagine it being too difficult..
