I have a 700TSV brand new model but I don't know anyone with a lilliput around here... and I don't have a good quality digital camera... the unit is still in the box, haven't gotten all my components in to install it yet.

don't know if this helps at all since i just have a crappy camera phone to take pics with but these are two images of the new xenarc. Since I do not have my opus yet its not in my car but one is in the dark obviously and the other is the best i could do to simulate the sun(my halogen desklamp). Both pics are of the xenarc at 33/99 brightness. If you can't see the pics go ahead and yell at me because I don't know if im putting them on here right.

kscuts50, where did you buy the xenarc from? XenarcDirect? So far how do you like it? is it visible well enough at day light? How's the quality of the connectors, etc?

I bought my from www.onehitwonders.com. I did a quick search and they seemed to be one of the cheapest at the time with free shipping so I snagged it. Like I said before, its not in my car but with the light shining through my house window....it seems to me that its as visible as any lcd is going to get. As far as the connectors go, I don't know what to say. They have a sturdy feel to them, not cheap feeling if you know what I mean. Once they are connected they fit securely and lock on without wiggling around. Like I stated in my previous post, the pictures I took were at 33/99 brightness so it could easily be boosted probably to the point of blindness. Another thing I like about the xenarc is the way that it looks. Since I don't plan on permanently installing it in my dash, I wanted the lcd to look good and in my opinion the xenarc looks better than the lilliput.

onehitwonders has so far the best price I found as well. They claim they are authorized xenarc dealer, is that correct? I sent xenarc an email but no response. I guess I will call them up. I sent Christopher couple of emails asking about warranty etc, no replies.

This newly discussed site (www.autonode.com), they carry the exact same screens xenarc carries (at least shows the same in their products list) but they don't have any resellers listed.

I called up Xenarc's customer service and they said that www.onehitwonders.com is an authorized reseller and that they would honor all warranties from products bought at that site.

I got my 700tsv (newer model) from ebay for ~$400 shipped. If you watch ebay like a hawk you can find them for a decent price. The guy that sold it to me also agreed to help me out if any problems popped up with the monitor. He sent me a copy of the original purchase reciept (from an authorized dealer) and said he'd keep the original in a safe place if I should ever call him up. So far so good.

BTW the connections are solid, they definitely improved that a lot. It clicks in perfectly and the a/v cables are solid. Hats off to Xenarc.

I really don't mind shelling a few extra bucks for avoiding a middle man for warranty issues; I know it would add up to the same with shipping costs etc. It's funny how long this Lilliput has been in the market but they didn't come up with a big reseller, steady flow of supplies, and reliable product.

I guess people on boards similar to mp3car.com are just a few people who know what they are doing. Probably when this car computer thing really hits, it's gonna be companies like Xenarc which will make the biggest profit and sales with complete products and support in hand.

We (hybrid Mobile) are xenarc distributers and I can tell you that the actual LCD panel inside is a Panasonic panel. they have fixed the crappy connector issue and as far as the brightness kit goes, it will actually alter the clearity of the screen, but it does infact increase the brightness somewhat...I guess its a give and take thing.....
havent seen a lilliput but i do know that the panel is different...might be Hitatchi...i cant remember...I would like to know the actual manufactures contact info if anyone knows...id like to get one and see the difference first hand...I have in stock both old and new xenarc screens, i could do a comparison for all to see
