Thumbs down Starvision advertised dimensions are incorrect

I felt this was important enough to deserve its own thread rather than be buried where I originally posted it. The Starvision dimensions are advertised to be identical to the Xenarc, both on the Starvision website and on the box that the Pixelon comes in: 7.75" (W) X 4.75" (H) X 1.38" (D)

I knew the Xenarc fit perfectly for my application so was rather surprised when the Starvision didn't... until I measured it.

from starvision:
http://www.starvision.us/product.php?SP-7VGAT
Dimensions: 7.75" (W) X 4.75" (H) X 1.38" (D)

from xenarc:
http://www.xenarc.com/product/700ts.html
Dimension (in): 7.75W x 4.75H x 1.38D

Actual measurements of the Pixelon:
6 7/8" x 5 1/4" x 1 1/8"

I emailed Christopher letting him know of the problem and also giving him a heads up that I might need to return the monitor if my installer couldn't figure something out for a reasonable cost. So far, he hasn't been particularly cooperative nor has he acknowledged the issue. Frankly I'm kicking myself that I missed out on the Xenarc group buy. In the end, it would have cost me the same because there would be no extra $$$ spent on making trim plates and such, and it's a better monitor.

Well, they actually want to charge me a $15 restocking fee (6%), even after apologizing!!!!

Hello,

Once again we are sorry for the mistake. In the event that it does not work
right for you processing is 6%.
Warranty is void if you take it apart.

Christopher

I still don't trust this seller. Call me suspicious, but it seems like they're just wrought with theft. Their logo is the Microsoft search dog, and they copy the specs from another company when in fact they DON'T even match the screen they sell.

These guys just seem shady.

Plus...false advertising is a crime. Charging someone a restocking fee is just foolish. Give them their money back and appologize. That's how it SHOULD work.
