Lightbulb Lilliput installation in TM-701L housing extras

If you haven't seen it already, there is a great writeup on installing your Lilliput in a TM-701L housing here:

This is a description of what I did beyond that.

First off I did the indash conversion like everyone else, and the coyote auto-on mod.

Then I replaced all of the cables from the LCD through the housing with one ribbon cable, and added a nice little quick connect in the LCD housing for when I have to take it apart.

Ribbon cable coming out of the back of the LCD

After all that ribbon cable stuff, I added a rocker switch to make it so the LCD only gets power when it is pulled out of the housing.

The rocker switch from radio shack

Switch at the back of the housing with the LCD moved forward, connecting the power

Thats about it. Hopefully the pictures are worth 8000 words...

really nice looking

but it looks like you have the power 12V, ground, RCA video signals going thru the ribbon cable as well. WIll it stand the current? Any problems using the video input instead of the digital input?

The ribbon cable I used was rated high enough I think.

Haven't had any problems with any of the video inputs yet.
