Get a girlfriend with an easier car to modify.

Seriously though, maybe a fold out LCD where that thing between the vents is now or replace the radio.

I agree! That will be a pain to modify to fit the screen!

Ha Ha

That silly floating speedo thing is in the way - what is wrong with normal dials? And I thought my dash was a pain!

What is the usable width between the vents? Easiest option might be a custom tilted piece to put it covering the CD player and CD trays (if that's hat they are) with the LCD pointing up but this might be too low (even mor dangerous with a girl driving ) and the gears stick might hit it.

Could move the buttons from above the dials to below and put a nice sculptured screen housing betwen the vents which could be slightly angled to the driver and match the speedo housing a bit. Even if the width is slightly too small you could sculpt small cutouts into the sides of this housing - could look sweet.

looks like the radio cant be replaced ( cd player is part of the dash ) what is that under the cd insert slot and buttons ( looks to me like the old porsche cd storage pop-out trays) if that is the same size as a din opening then put a fold out monitor

if not then maby yank all the guts out of the cd part and cut a din opening you may have to put plastic back in then cut a din opening and at the top maby put a small 3-5 line lcd display to show track info and what not when you leave the lcd closed

what does a yaris look like are you in the uk or in the states got a pick of the whole car

hth

Does this car have an overhead console? Alot of people are stuck on the idea of putting the screen in the dash when a lot of cars could simple have them fold down out of the overhead.

The car has a lot of space to mount LCD up from the roof.. hm... I will think about that..

The radio between vents is a Orginal Toyota radio with driveing computer..
So I may take it out and mount LCD there...

The idea I have is:
Take out the radio between vents and put LCD there.
Take out a cd-box under Orginal cd player and but a regular Car cd player with aux-in..
I think it will be a best solution...

ditch the factory speedo and run an obd11 device to show speed and put the screen in that little boob shaped bump up on top in the middle, go on you know yo uwant to, or what about straight in front of the driver where the speedo etc normally sits, may be tricky to touch the monitor but hey get a powermate and remote control installed instead

Yaris is the JAPAN spec name for the Toyota ECHO (in the USA thats what its called)

Echo is much better then yaris .. as it has a 1.5l VVTi (much more power) and also has airbags (standard) yaris its option . also echo has a much better and rigged front ( impact protection) .. bigger wider wheels(14 inch .. instrad of 13)

i know this because here where i am at ... localy bought (lowend) toyota;s are yaris .. (at dealership i mean) .. those that go to usa to buy it (cheaper) ... those are toyota echo's ....
