How to protect your Lilliput LCD (or any lcd)

I havent really seen a thread that dealt with the protecting of your LCD.

I own 2 lilliputs (1 on the way) but my last one that i fried got quit a few nasty scratches on the front. I want to make sure that this one doesnt get scratched Where can i get som sort of protector similar to the ones used with PDA's

Ofcourse i would like it to have antiglare qualities but this is not crucial. Mainly i am interested in a replacable protectant for my Touchscreen.

Any leads? Links?

Personally, I would just buy a pack of those pda covers and put as many on edge to edge as you can. Might be a few lines, but those things rock!

I found a link

http://www.nushield.com/products_bus...uch_system.htm

There isn't one exactly for the lilliput but I saw an 8" one that could be cut down to size

I just use a stylus when I use my Lilliput and that seems to work pretty well so far.

unfortunatly that is not an option. There is no way that in regular use that i will always have a stylus.

Come on peoples post some links. Does anybody know the exact dimensions of the Lilliput LCD?

Keep those links and ideas coming

You need to learn to for yourself.

A quick for lcd touch screen protector yielded 74,000 results. The most prommising was: NuShield

And for the dimensions of the Lilliput, just grab a tape measure. They're listed in some of the other forums, too.

Thumbs down

@Vicci

Yea whatever. I don't need to learn anything about google. and most of the 74000 results are for small camera or PDA sized screens. Anyways thanks for those two non "value added" posts which absolutly gave no new information and no help at all.

Are you happy now that you finaly got to use those search icons

Also It appears that I "have learned to google" becasue i even posted the link to Nushield.

Go post that crap somwhere else

by the way the viewable dimensions on a lilliput was 155mm x 95mm (i measured my own)

I have sent the dimensions to nushield and also asked if they will cut it to length. I will post the results and the closest product to the 7" lilliput

Hmm... this may be a dumb question... but doesn't the touchscreen overlay protect the screen itself? Or are you worried about scratches in the touchscreen overlay?

Basically yes.

I had a lilliput and the resitive coating that they apply scratches very easily. I ended up with several large noticeable scratches that are visible in the day (not at night though)

so now that i have a bran new lilliput on the way and i want to do it right. I hope this thread can help others. I think Nushield is the ticket

Okay.. I thought it was me... the first time I used my Lilly installed, some
funk got stuck under my finger and put a huge scratch in it.... and I've
gotten 2 more from my friends using it....

I have Write-Shields for my PDA and they are awesome.. bump up contrast
of screen and give it a texture feel. I thought.. hmm too bad they don't
make something for Lilly.... well I read your thread and thought I'd check...

Here you go... big $$$ tho but worth it.... too bad I can't get without all
the accessories cause I already have that from PDA kit.

The cleaning fluid and rag is awesome... I already use that on the Lilly..
makes it crystal clear...

Maybe I'll email them and see if they'll just sell replacement 1/2 sheets
cheaper...

Protection

I always put a coat of good quality wax on surfaces that I want protected.

Makes the surface slip better and more scratch and dirt resistant.

Been doing this for years (and I'm old) Works like a champ.

Best Regards,

Barry

Write-Shield got back to me:

"We do not sell the material seperately. You'll need the accessories in the DIY kit to help you size and cut the material."

The microfiber cloths and cleaning fluid does rock (have it for my IPAQ), just sucks
cause I don't want to pay for all that stuff again! But it looks like I have no choice.

Let us know what NuShield comes back with!
