Unhappy Xenarc Touch Panel on Lilliput Controller

Hi,

Has anyone ever use a Xenarc touch panel with the Lilliput touch screen controller? Basically swapping out the touch panel on the Lilliput VGA screen. For some strange reason I couldn't get mine to work. I had to replace my Lilliput touch panel so I figure I try the Xenarce one. It is basically the same type of 4 wire resistive touch panel except the 4 wires are not line up with Lilliput plug. After some re-arranging I got the wires to line up but I can't calibrate it. Once the computer is booted, the mouse cursor or touch area is on bottom left of the screen. Everything is off by about half a screen to the left and down. Also, it looks like something is dragging the cursor to the bottom left of the screen because I can’t even move the mouse. The mouse will move but as soon as I let go it will be pull back to the bottom left. Basically it looks like something is pulling it to the bottom left and is not letting go. I can't calibrate it with the software using the 4 or 25 points calibration. I am using the latest Lilliput driver (worcol touch pad) I think that's the name. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Yes, the panel will work without problem. What is happening is that the Xenarc touch panel has a slightly bigger active area then the lilliput touch panel. The size of the inside opening in the housing (lilliput) is smaller then the active area on the xenarc touch panel. When you install the touch panel into the housing it is being pressed by the frame. That is why you can move the cursor out of its current position. You need to do something like this: http://www.digitalww.com/TM-701L_VGA...touchpads1.JPG using double sided sticky tape as a spacer.

Thanks Armin. I see what you are saying. I will try that tonight. Since we are on the subject of LCD. I noticed that the Xenarc has a better quality touch panel and is it also not as reflective as the Lilliput but the transparency is not as good as the Lilliput. Althought the Lilliput is too reflective, it is more visible than the Xenarc. The xenarc is not as reflective but everything just looks muddy. My question is, do you have a Anti-reflective solution or another product or should I just tint my car? Thanks.

Unfortunately it seems like you can't have both (clear and antiglare). Xenarc/Gain panels have antiglare coating but takes away from the brightness more. Lilliput panel (I believe) are don't have the antiglare coating and are just clear.

Tinting your windows will get you to a point where glare is not a problem.

I did away with my touchscreen overlay and now I've got a right bright panel!
