Inside of a xenarc question

Im trying to make a xenarc fit in my dash with a custom fiberglass front/back casing. I need to know if this part on the board is stuck to the side of the screen for a reason. It looks like its just held on by double back tape, and doesnt seem to have anything electical holding it to the side. Its getting in the way and i want to move it a little, but dont want to before i know it doesnt help the touchscreen function someway.

Thanks

Yes it is just double sided tape holding onto the wire connector, you can remove it easily without breaking anything.
